Benefits of Sound Meditation
Sound Meditation is an effortless form of meditation…
…that relies on the use of instruments such as gongs, Tibetan bowls, crystal bowls, Koshi chimes and the monochord. The voice is a key element of a sound meditation too, whether speaking or singing. A sound meditation, otherwise called sound bath, is a ceremony that creates the conditions to truly relax and find inspiration.
From the set up of the room to the meditation itself, the experience is one that is designed to put you at ease and allow you to drift into a deep state of relaxation, where your mind can slow down and give access to imaginal realms where you might find insight, answers and possibly a new perspective.
Benefits include:
Stress relief
Mental clarity and focus
Better sleep
Reduced cortisol
Lowered heart rate
Enhanced creativity
Increased self-awareness
The gift of relaxation feeds into all areas of life, including improved relationships with self and others, finding work-life balance, developing self awareness and boundaries, and connecting to the spiritual side of yourself if you wish to develop it.
Sound Meditation takes place laying down comfortably on a yoga mat, with blankets and pillows and sessions are usually 1-1.5 hours with a period of transitioning in and out of the session, so that you leave feeling grounded and relaxed.
